10th Annual New York
Alec Wilder Concert and Celebration

New York City -- The 10th Annual Alec Wilder Concert and Celebration will be held at St. Peter's Church, 610 Lexington Avenue at 54th Street, New York City on Saturday, February 19, 1994 at 2:00 pm. A reception will follow.

The program will feature Lynn Gaubatz in a performance of Wilder's Bassoon Sonata No. 2, a group of Wilder songs performed by singer Barbara Lea, and the Eastman School of Music Trombone Choir directed by John Marcellus. The Choir will play the Suite for Nineteen Trombones and arrangements of Wilder songs. Mary Wallace Davidson, Librarian of Eastman's Sibley Music Library will give an update on the Wilder Archives. Honorary Host will be Loonis McGlohon, who will also perform with his trio.

Previous series artists include Manny Albam, Samuel Baron, Glen Bowen, John Carlson, David Demsey, Bill Dobbins, Tom Everett, Paul Ingraham, Jackie & Roy, Richard Kilmer, Barbara Lea, Bob Levy, Mel Lewis, The Loonis McGlohon Trio, The Marian McPartland Trio, Virginia Nanzetta, The New York Woodwind Quintet, Harvey Phillips, Ronald Roseman, Morris Secon, Barry Syder, Gordon Stout, Otis Stroup, John Swallow, David Van Hoesen, Marlene VerPlanck, and The Wingra Quintet. Previous honorary hosts have included Robert Freeman, Rev. John Gensel, James T. Maher, Mitch Miller, Louis Ouzer, Harvey Phillips, and Gunther Schuller.
